Today, Friday, Defense Minister Thabet Al-Abbasi directed the opening of an investigation into the incident of detonating an explosive device on an Iraqi army patrol in Tarmiyah. A statement by the Ministry of Defense, seen by Mosul Time Radio, said, “Defense Minister Thabet Muhammad Al-Abbasi arrived in Tarmiyah within the Sixth Division sector.” The statement added, “The Minister directed the opening of an investigation into the incident of detonating an explosive device on an Iraqi army patrol.” An Iraqi soldier was martyred and four others were injured when an explosive device exploded targeting army forces during a search operation in the Salman area in the Tarmiyah district in search of those who fired night shells.
