British Ambassador Stephen Hitchen to Iraq confirmed his country’s readiness to provide support for Nineveh Governorate and reconstruction. The British Ambassador’s pledges came during his meeting with Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil during the ambassador’s visit to the governorate. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom in general, support for the reconstruction wheel in Nineveh in particular, and mechanisms for working to strengthen and expand it in various fields, in a way that achieves mutual benefit and common interests between the two countries. Al-Dakhil pointed to the strength of the social fabric in Mosul and his constant keenness on the return of Christians and working on the reconstruction of the oldest church in the city, in addition to preserving the real fabric in Tal Afar, Bashiqa, and other districts and districts. He pointed out that within the local government’s program there are important plans to advance the health, schools and sports sectors and to complete work at Mosul Airport by the end of this year.
