The Directorate of Roads and Bridges in Nineveh Governorate announced the achievement of advanced work stages in the project to construct the Sixth Mosul Bridge and its approaches. The completion rate has reached advanced stages.
The Directorate explained that the completion rate for the bridge and its approaches reached 78%, as the installation of 16 tributary spans of the bridge was completed, while work continues in the remaining two spans located in the river basin on the right side of the approaches to the coast .
She explained that the work of covering the approaches with the base layer on the right side is continuing, with the completion of about 5 kilometers of them, while continuing the earthworks and compacted gravel, and opening the path and pavement for the remaining parts of the approaches .
It is worth noting that the bridge is about 650 meters long and 28 meters wide, with approaches more than 8 kilometers long.
The Sixth Bridge is one of the vital and important bridges in the city of Mosul. Its completion will contribute to reducing traffic congestion and streamlining vehicle movement within the city. It connects its left side at the Al-Kubba area with its right side at the Halila area , which is part of the annual road to the city of Mosul.
