The Nineveh Roads and Bridges Directorate announced that the project to establish the second corridor of the Mosul-Kirkuk roads is ongoing, with a length of 124 kilometers.

The directorate explained that the project is part of the projects of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Public Municipalities, indicating that the project consists of two parts, the first within Nineveh Governorate, with a length of 76 km. K kilometers.

The second part is located within Kirkuk Governorate and is 48 km long km , with the construction of 10 bridges and 237 various bridges along the road’s path .

The Directorate confirmed that the actual completion rate of the project has reached about 16% , while the planned completion rate is 13 %.

In details, the Directorate indicated that preparations are currently being made to begin paving the road with asphalt for the first part of the road with a length of 76 km. km , coinciding with the near completion of the cutting and burial works , the start of laying the gravel and shoulders, the implementation of the pile works, and the manufacture of the joists for seven bridges within the route of the road .
