The Nineveh Governorate Office announced on Thursday the launch of projects to build new schools in Nineveh Governorate.

Governor Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil said that the construction of 33 new schools will begin throughout Nineveh Governorate in order to improve the educational situation.

The governor added that the police implementing the project are currently working to demolish and rebuild Al-Aseel School in the Al-Sukkar neighborhood on the left side of Mosul, with a capacity of 24 classrooms.

Nineveh Governorate has been suffering for years from severe overcrowding in schools due to the lack of school buildings, which forced the Education Directorate to merge more than one school into one school building, in double and triple shifts.
