The Nineveh Heritage and Antiquities Inspectorate announced yesterday , Tuesday, the laying of the foundation stone to begin the rehabilitation project of the “Nineveh Archaeological Wall,” which is one of the walls and historical landmarks in the city of Mosul .
The director of the Inspectorate of Nineveh Heritage and Antiquities said, “Red tonight.” “Laying the foundation stone marks the beginning of the first phase of the project, funded by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the stages of completing this part will be listed at a length of 200 meters and a height of seven meters .”
He explained to Laila that “the maintenance work on the ancient Nineveh Wall will include the wall extending from the Mohandiseen neighborhood to the Al-Zari neighborhood (east of Mosul),” indicating that the works come in conjunction with the rehabilitation work of the archaeological Bab Al-Masqa within the Nineveh Wall, indicating that the goal of this is to include the ruins of the wall. Nineveh is on the World Heritage List .

The wall had been exposed to erosion and destruction, which required rehabilitation and maintenance projects funded by the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and international organizations .
