Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil said yesterday , Tuesday, that political conflicts will affect the provision of services and reconstruction in the governorate .
Al-Dakhil called on the political forces to “spar the governorate from these political conflicts because this will reflect negatively on matters of life and its service reality,” adding that “these problems will put sticks in the wheels, ” as he described it.
Al-Dakhil stressed that “Nineveh seeks today to enter the stage of reconstruction and construction, and everyone must distance the province from political conflicts and disputes and resort to the law and the constitution in resolving existing disputes .”
the United Nineveh Alliance announced the suspension of its membership in the Provincial Council against the backdrop of selecting and appointing heads of administrative units in Nineveh .
Rabbo, a member of the Nineveh Council for the United Nineveh Alliance (9 seats), said, “ The United Nineveh Alliance decided to suspend its membership in the Nineveh Provincial Council as a result of the other party’s illegal practices,” as he put it.
The Nineveh Governorate Council had voted in its 14th session , held on the second of last July, to make changes in the position of heads of administrative units in the governorate .
The sources indicated that the vote “was carried out by the Nineveh Future Alliance (16 seats) and boycotted by the Nineveh United Alliance (9 seats) and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (4 seats).”
