The Governor of Nineveh confirmed that the old Mosul area on the right side of Mosul is of great importance.
During his visit to the old Al-Sayyagh market and his inspection of its reconstruction work, Al-Dakhil pointed out that this market is a memory for all the people of Nineveh Governorate , pointing out that the governorate launched a government project that includes the process of rehabilitating the facade and floor of the market in cooperation with shop owners and the people of the old region .
He continued that Al-Sayyagh Market , Al-Najafi Street, and the Downtown Project are all vital, important development projects that restore life to the right side of the city, indicating that his government is making great efforts to restore the old city to its historical and economic glory.
Al-Sayyagh Market and other markets in the old city were subjected to comprehensive destruction during the battles to liberate Mosul from the terrorist organization ISIS.
