A medical team at the Medical Research Teaching Hospital in Nineveh Health was able to save a 5-year-old girl who swallowed a pin.
The head of the medical team, Dr. Muhammad Waadullah, explained that the child’s specialization is in diseases of the digestive system and liver. The child was received after she was referred from Al-Jumhuri Hospital to the endoscopy department in the hospital’s Digestive and Liver Center due to the presence of a foreign body (veil pin) inside the stomach. The pin was extracted under general anesthesia in less than a minute. A minute ago, the baby girl was in good health.
