Yesterday,  Sunday, Mosul has end the activities of the Abu Tammam Festival of Arabic Poetry in its sixth session – the session of the poet Maad Al-Jubouri – 3 days after its launch.

The Abu Tammam Festival of Arabic Poetry is considered one of the most important poetry festivals in Iraq, especially since this session was distinguished by the participation of more than 150 Iraqi and Arab poets.

The festival’s activities began on May 30 last for 4 consecutive days, ending today after Iraqi and Arab poets recited dozens of poems that touched the literary taste of those interested in the field of poetry and literature.

The festival activities moved between 4 locations, as the festival banner was launched at Ashur Mall in the forest area on the left side of Mosul at seven in the evening, while the activities of the second day took place at the Writers Forum in the Cultural Group area, the Cultural Museum of Mosul, and Ashur Mall.

As for the activities of the third day, they were held in the halls of the Mosul Cultural Museum on the right side of Mosul, where the festival included many activities, which included reciting poems and extensive meetings between Arab and Iraqi poets, with an exhibition of photographs. The third day also included a tourist tour for guests in heritage and historical places and old markets. The third day then concluded with activities, poetry readings, and a singing evening at the Mosul Heritage House on the banks of the Tigris River.

Al-Tatanji House on the right side of Mosul, where the last day will include a huge ceremony befitting the history of Mosul and its ancient civilization, bringing the curtain down on the activities of the festival, which was launched in its first session in 1971.
