Dozens of residents of the Al-Falah Al-Thani neighborhood on the left side of Mosul organized a protest today in protest against the municipality’s notification to them to remove their homes because they conflict with the Al-Falah Bridge linking the Al-Falah and Al-Siddiq neighborhoods.
One of the participants in the protest said that he was informed that his house would be demolished. He woke up in the morning to find that the Mosul municipality had written the letter (Z) on the wall of his house.
He confirms that he and dozens of others have an official title deed (Tabu Deed 25) for the houses since 2012 and before the start of building the bridge, and that they obtained an official building permit from the municipality upon construction, indicating that he had received the land from the Cement Housing Association in District No. (9). In the second farmer.
For its part, the Mosul Municipality clarified that this case is still pending before the court and there is no removal of the role at the present time.
The municipality followed up on the details of the measures taken in the second Al-Falah area, noting that there were violations on the path of the street leading to Al-Falah Bridge, which prevented its two sides from being connected to each other, noting that the “municipality” had submitted criminal complaints, to look into those procedures, and those complaints and lawsuits are still pending before the judiciary. To issue appropriate decisions.
She added, “What happened about a month ago was an inspection of the houses located within the route, in coordination with the Cairo Police Station, Al-Mukhtar, and a committee from the Al-Hadbaa sector, where information was taken about those houses, including the name of the house owner, the date of construction, and the area, in implementation of the judge’s decision, according to the municipality.
The second Al-Falah Bridge was completed more than two years ago without being opened to pedestrians due to the lack of approaches to the bridge on either side of it.
The participants in the protest are wondering how the bridge was built and completed before organizing its approaches and determining the route of the bridge, as the participants in the protest confirm that the route of the bridge has been changed more than once, according to what they said.
