An official document titled “Investigation Committee” and affiliated with the Sunni Endowment Office revealed that the committee revealed financial corruption in the Sunni Endowment in Nineveh.
The document showed that one of the Waqf employees in eastern Mosul was arrested in May 2017 and sentenced to life imprisonment because of his affiliation to ISIS.
However, the document revealed through the investigation that the accused continued to receive his salaries for five years, until May 2022.
The document indicated administrative negligence in the directorate’s work during that period, as the salary of the convicted employee did not stop after the decision to dismiss him was issued as a result of his continued absence from work.
