Yesterday, Monday, the Mosul Municipality closed a number of butcher shops in Mosul after monitoring health and environmental violations.
The Municipality Directorate explained that the follow-up and closure process was carried out in cooperation with the Nineveh Health Directorate , as many butcher shops were closed after the relevant committees monitored the non- compliance of the owners of those shops with the environmental and health slaughtering controls for livestock.
This step comes in order to improve the environmental and health standards in the city , especially after many cases of hemorrhagic fever were recorded in Nineveh Governorate during the past months.
