Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil announced the formation of a committee from the governorate administration to follow up on the complaints suffered by truck drivers while passing through controls and checkpoints.
He stated that the governorate administration views truck drivers as true partners in development work and will therefore work to overcome the obstacles they face.
The Governor of Nineveh also revealed that the Iraqi judiciary is the decisive factor in the incident of the attack on a police officer during the past two days on the Mosul-Erbil road during an attempt to end the sit-in on the road.
Social networking sites had circulated video clips of an attack by members of the 30th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces on an officer in the riot control forces with the rank of captain during a demonstration of truck drivers near the control of the martyr Sabhan, before a force from the Popular Mobilization Forces arrested the assailants.
