A security source in Nineveh Governorate reported today, Sunday, that the Mosul River Police rescued a married young woman who attempted to commit suicide in the Tigris River coinciding with the rise in water levels.
The source told Mosul Time Radio, “ The River Police Department of the Nineveh Police was able to rescue a young married woman, born in 2002, who threw herself into the Tigris River through the water project in the forest area on the river bank. ”
The source explained that “ river police patrols present in the river to monitor the dangers of the rising levels were able to extract and save her approximately 100 meters away after she was swept away by the water.”
