The national team intensified its training in the training fields of the Sports City in Basra in preparation for meeting the Philippine national team in two home and away matches on (3/21 and 3/26) respectively in the double qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup finals.
A statement from the Football Association’s media channel stated, “The training took place with the participation of (24) players, including: Jalal Hassan, Ahmed Basil, Muhammad Saleh, Ibrahim Bayesh, Safaa Hadi, Hassan Abdel Karim, Zaid Tahseen, Montazer Majed, Ayman Hussein, Mirkhas Dosky, Ahmed Yassin, Muhannad Ali, Rebin Sulaqa, Ali Jassim, Osama Rashid, Mustafa Saadoun, Youssef Al-Amin, Louay Al-Ani, Abdul Razzaq Qasim, Saad Natiq, Manaf Younis, Amir Al-Amari, Dargham Ismail, Bashar Rassan. It is hoped that all of them will join this morning. From France Zia, Hussain Ali and Zaidan Iqbal.
The statement added, “The President of the Iraqi Football Federation, Adnan Darjal, the Second Vice President of the Federation, Younis Mahmoud, the member of the Iraqi Football Association, Ahmed Al-Moussawi, and the Secretary-General, Muhammad Farhan, attended the training.”
