The Federal Integrity Commission announced the summoning of a presenter on Al Sharqiya TV channel, to investigate a tweet he made that discussed corruption files worth $140 million .

The document issued by the Commission’s Investigations Department stated: The summons was based on the provisions of Article 30 of the Integrity and Illicit Gains Commission Law No. 30 of 2011, as amended, and based on the directives of the Commission’s Chairman .

The Authority explained that the tweet sent by the media figure included information about a project it described as “imaginary” worth $140 million, which prompted the Authority to investigate the accuracy of that information and verify the details related to the contract .

The Authority affirmed its commitment to taking the necessary legal measures based on the laws in force in this regard.
