A responsible source in the Salah al-Din Police reported yesterday , Sunday, that 150 members of the police in the province began their mission to protect the Iraqi-Syrian border, in accordance with the directives of the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir al-Shammari, to enhance border security .
confirmed that “based on the directives of the Minister of Interior and under the direct supervision of the Commander of Salah al-Din Police, a force from the Emergency Regiments of the Salah al-Din Police Command headed to live within the formations of the Sixth Region Border Guard Forces Command for a period of 15 days .”
The source added that “150 members began border protection tasks within the Iraqi-Syrian border,” indicating that “the force is supporting the units deployed along the border strip .”
The Iraqi forces reinforced their forces on the border strip with Syria after the Syrian army led by the Assad regime retreated in the face of the armed groups until they were able to topple the regime within a few days.
