The Ministry of Construction and Housing announced, on Monday, work on completing the permit and laying the foundations for the city of Ali al-Wardi, while indicating that 6 new residential cities will be announced as investment opportunities soon.
Ministry spokesman Nabil Al-Saffar said, “There are five residential cities that were presented as investment opportunities and were referred to developers and investors. Four of them have completed their contracts, and the Fallujah city project remains in the ongoing research phase with the offers submitted,” noting that “the cities of Al-Jawahiri in Baghdad, Al-Ghazlani in Mosul, and the banks of Karbala and Al-Janain.” In Babel and Ali Al-Wardi, she was referred and the contract was signed with an international company.”
He added, “Ali Al-Wardi City will provide 120,000 housing units, and we are in the process of completing the permit, land, and laying the foundations,” pointing out that “there are 6 other residential cities that will be announced as investment opportunities in addition to the 5 previously announced.”
In turn, the Arab economist and businessman, Hassan Ismaik, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Iraq is a general producer of oil, and soon gas, and the petrochemical and phosphate industry, and it needs reconstruction,” indicating that “this prompts me to contribute to reconstruction, and to enter the real estate sector or Industrial or construction.
Ismaik continued, “I submitted investments in residential projects to the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, with an initial capital of 10 billion dollars,” pointing out, “We are interested in building 5 to 10 residential cities in Iraq, constituting 370,000 housing units.”
Ismaik confirmed , “The Prime Minister welcomed the idea of the project to solve the housing crisis, as he provided full support and opened all doors for the completion of these projects.”
