Nineveh Police announced yesterday , Saturday, the opening of an investigation into the killing of a man and a woman in the Rajm Hadid area, west of Mosul, after they were shot .
A security source in Nineveh Governorate told Mosul Time Radio that “Nineveh Police opened an extensive investigation into the incident of the killing of a man and a woman by gunfire in the Rajm Hadid area, located west of Mosul .”
The source explained that the initial investigations “indicate that the incident is of a criminal nature, and there are strong suspicions that the motive behind the crime may be related to the ‘honor killing’ case .”
The source added that the security forces “began collecting evidence and listening to eyewitnesses in the area, while intensive efforts are being made to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
