A security source in Nineveh reported the arrest of an ISIS member disguised in women’s clothing in the market of Al-Baaj district, west of the province .
The source said that the arrested element had previously belonged to ISIS for seven months during the period of the organization’s control over Nineveh Governorate, but he was not registered in the official data possessed by the security services .
He pointed out that initial investigations confirmed that the arrested person did not infiltrate from Syria despite the proximity of Al-Baaj to the border, stressing that “the border area is safe and subject to strict surveillance .”
