The Iraqi Embassy in Washington announced the recovery of the “Reclining Ram” statue in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington .
The embassy explained in a post on the X platform that the statue of the reclining ram dates back to the Jemdet Nasr period (3100-2900 BC) .
She explained that this step highlights Iraq’s commitment to recovery diplomacy to protect its cultural heritage and return it to its original homeland .
She pointed out that the restoration of the statue comes within the efforts to preserve Iraq’s cultural heritage.
