The Ministry of Industry announced the intention to provide the local adhesive cement product starting next month, noting that it will enjoy high quality and will be available at lower prices than the imported product .
The company’s general manager, Aqil Abdul Ali Radam, said: “Al-Rafidain Cement Factory, one of the factories of the Iraqi General Cement Company, has entered into a contract with Okan Cement Company to produce new types, the most important of which is adhesive cement, to meet the country’s needs .”
“In construction, we have entered the trial operation phase, and production will begin next month,” he added, stressing that “the adhesive cement is distinguished by its global quality and type, comparable to that found in neighboring and friendly countries, and the quantity produced will cover the market’s needs, with a production capacity of 300 tons per day .”
For his part, the Chairman of Okan Holding Group, Mohammed Ahmed Ismail, explained that “the Rafidain Cement Factory will produce ceramic adhesives for swimming pools, walls, and interior and exterior walls, with a production capacity of 12 and a half tons per hour .”
Ismail confirmed that “the product is in demand according to the supply and demand rate, in addition to the market need, and we expect an increase in demand for it because the product enters into all stages of the construction process due to the importance of ceramics and porcelain in Iraq, in addition to it being a strong product and will replace the imported one and the prices will be competitive and cheaper than the imported one by a large margin .”
