The Iraqi Central Speedball Federation announced yesterday , Friday, the start of the Iraqi Clubs Championship competitions for the current season in Nineveh Governorate .

A statement by the Speedball Federation quoted the Federation’s spokesman, Ali Hamza Al-Rubaie, as saying: “The first round of the Iraqi Speedball Clubs and Institutions Championship kicked off this morning, Friday, at the Andalusia Youth Forum Hall on the left side of Mosul, indicating that the championship witnessed the participation of (20) teams representing various governorates of the country .”
He pointed out that “this championship also witnessed the participation of many institutional clubs such as (Air Defense, Military Industries, and Northern Gas) in addition to some clubs from the capital, Baghdad, such as (Al-Bayaa) for the first time in the competitions held by the Speedball Federation, explaining that the competition will be at its fiercest between the competing teams with a relative advantage for the Nineveh clubs, which include most of the players of the national team for the game in the junior and advanced categories for both genders, and the Military Industries Club .”
