The Judicial Authority for Elections decided to dissolve 3 political parties due to their association with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, which is banned in Iraq .
The parties are: the Yazidi Freedom and Democracy Party , the Democratic Struggle Front Party, and the Kurdistan Community Party “Tafkari Azadi .”
According to the ruling issued by the Court of the Judicial Authority for Elections, it was decided to dissolve the three political parties, close their headquarters, and confiscate their funds after exhausting legal methods of appeal in accordance with the provisions of Article (46/Third) of the Political Parties Law .
The decision was issued by agreement and is subject to appeal on the first of August .
The Prime Minister of the Iraqi Federal Government, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, recently directed the adoption of the word “prohibited” in government speeches in which the name of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party appears .
