The Nineveh local government revealed the development of a road map for the major national campaign to plant trees in the city of Mosul, which is scheduled to be launched in November .

Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, discussed with the participants in the meeting the development of a road map for the major national campaign to plant trees in the city of Mosul, which was announced by the Chairman of the Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasoud, and which will begin on October 24 of the current year .

Al-Dakhil pointed out that this campaign contributes to improving the environment and reducing the effects of desertification. He also explained that sums of money from Nineveh Governorate have been allocated to support this national afforestation campaign .

At the same time, Al-Dakhil stressed the importance of choosing appropriate types of trees for the city’s climate and the appropriate time for planting .

This came during an expanded meeting held by the Governor of Nineveh, Abdul Qadir Al-Dakhil, and the Chairman of the Provincial Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasoud, with the participation of the Director of the Municipality of Mosul, Engineer Abdul-Sattar Al-Habou, and in the presence of a number of members of the Provincial Council, along with officials of government departments, the Mayor of Mosul, and the commanders of operations and police.
