Director of Nineveh Roads and Bridges, Radwan Al-Shahwani, announced that the third bridge will be opened within the next two days .
Al-Shahwani stated that work on the bridge will be completed soon, with the exception of replacing the expansion joints, which will require some time .
He pointed out that the bridge will be opened, but work on replacing the expansion joints will be carried out after importing those joints from outside Iraq.
The Roads and Bridges Directorate closed the third bridge last week with the aim of maintaining it and re-paving the bridge’s two lanes after the bridge witnessed many ripples and bumps that impeded the movement of vehicles.
