The Mayor of Tal Afar District, Khalil Mohsen, confirmed the launch of a new phase of reconstruction in the ancient Tal Afar Citadel .
Mohsen said that the first phase of the work to rehabilitate the castle included an area of 300 meters, and pointed out the importance of the castle’s location from an archaeological standpoint . He explained that the previously allocated amount is not enough to reconstruct the entire citadel, pointing out that the Judicial Administration will request additional sums to complete the work, which will include establishing a museum and a monument to the martyr on the citadel site
