The Pharmacists Syndicate confirmed that all imported medicines are subject to laboratory tests in Iraq, and while it explained the examination mechanism, it confirmed the implementation of 4,000 inspection tours to seize fake shops and control the circulation of medicines .
The head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Haider Fouad, said, “All medicines imported in the government and private sectors are subject to laboratory tests, and there are centers for pharmaceutical control and research in Baghdad, Najaf, and Basra to examine medicines .”
He added, “The Ministry of Health registers pharmaceutical preparations, where there is an initial examination of all preparations,” noting that “imported medicines are included within the Center for Pharmaceutical Control and Research, and each drug has a period determined by the mechanism of action present in the Control Center,” pointing out that “the Control Center It operates within the conditions of the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization in all standard conditions that require examination of medicines .”
He pointed out that “the Pharmacists Syndicate conducted 4,000 inspection tours that included visits to pharmaceutical institutions, and we have a follow-up committee for drug stores and offices, and we will not allow any pharmacies or scientific offices to promote any substance that is not subject to specifications,” explaining that “pharmacists are more keen on delivering safe medicine.” For citizens .”
Fouad confirmed that there is high coordination between the Pharmacists Syndicate and the executive authorities of National Security and the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime to follow up on fake shops and control the circulation of medicines. He stated that “in the Pharmacists Syndicate, in the event of violations, the pharmacist is referred to the relevant discipline committees in implementation of the Pharmacists Syndicate Law No. 112 of the year 1967″.
