Al-Khansa Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children in the city of Mosul in Nineveh is witnessing advanced stages of completion with the continuation of construction work, while doctors confirmed that the hospital will provide many services to the people of the governorate and other adjacent areas. Zakaria Abdul Khaliq, a specialist physician at Al-Khansa Hospital, said, “Within the directives of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani regarding the health aspect and reviewing the percentages of projects, work continues at Al-Khansa Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children in the city of Mosul, and the completion rate has reached 60%. He added, “The work is continuing under the supervision of the Reconstruction Fund for Areas Affected by Terrorist Operations and within the Kuwait Fund for Development grant in order to complete the project in full and with high specifications. The hospital specializes in pediatric medicine and surgery and also includes the Obstetrics and Gynecology branch.” Abdul Khaliq pointed out that “the citizens of the city of Mosul are awaiting the completion of this important institution, as it provided various medical and health services such as rare diseases consultation and breast consultation and receives patients from all areas of Mosul and the districts of Nineveh Governorate and from outside the governorate.” For his part, the head of the Resident Engineer Department, Thaer Fadel, explained to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “a private nursing home was established in Al-Khansa Teaching Hospital, a lobby for specialist doctors and an oxygen laboratory were established to supply all departments of the hospital, and the hospital was equipped with central cooling and heating,” noting that “the hospital contains On 11 operating rooms.
