Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil laid the foundation stone for the modern residential village of Kojo in Sinjar district.

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani supervised the laying of the foundation stone for the project via remote Internet communication technology.

The modern village project in Kojo village in Sinjar district includes 134 housing units, a health center and a school. The project will be implemented with funding from the United States Agency for International Development and joint implementation by the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations Development Program.

Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil stressed that laying the foundation stone for the modern village in the village of Kojo in Sinjar district represents the starting point for the reconstruction of Sinjar district. Al-Dakhil pointed out during the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the project that the healing of the Yazidi component will be through bringing the criminals to justice, pursuing the kidnapped men and women, compensating the affected people, and starting the reconstruction of Sinjar.
