Nineveh Governorate announced Its management is currently discussing with the Federal Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction in the capital, Baghdad, the actual steps to launch an important strategic project in the city of Mosul, the center of the governorate .

The Assistant Governor for Reconstruction Affairs, Abdul Wahab Sultan, said: “The Nineveh Governorate Administration is discussing with the Ministry of Housing and Reconstruction the acceleration of the referral of the second section of the Mosul ring road project .”

Sultan explained that “the first section of the ring road extends from the Mosul-Dohuk road to the sixth bridge on the Tigris River, with a length of 8 km,” noting that “the second section of the ring road project extends from the sixth bridge of Mosul to the Baghdad road, with a length of 20 km, while the third section of it extends from the Baghdad road towards the vicinity of Mosul airport, then the left side through the seventh bridge to the Kirkuk road .”

He pointed out that “discussions and discussions are taking place with the Minister of Housing and Construction, Benkin Rikani, in order to expedite the referral of the second section and then the referral of the third and final section of the project .”

Earlier, Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil confirmed that That his administration is working to address 119 stalled projects out of 141 projects in the governorate .

There are 5 main bridges in Mosul that connect the right and left sides of the city. All the bridges were destroyed during ISIS’s control of the city. After 6 years, the city succeeded in rebuilding these bridges and adding a new twin bridge to the iron bridge.
