A responsible source in the Coordination Framework revealed, on Sunday, that the Prime Minister of the Federal Government, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, submitted the names of four ministers in his cabinet to replace them with others, stressing that the framework blocs were divided among themselves between supporters and opponents of change .
The source said, “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani informed the leadership of the Coordination Framework of the need to change some ministers in the government in order for the ministerial program that formed the current government to succeed .”
He added, “Al-Sudani informed the leadership of the framework in his last meeting of the necessity of changing four ministers and choosing the replacements within a period not exceeding a week, and the change will be two ministers from the Coordination Framework blocs and two from the Sunni blocs, without referring to the names of the ministers .”
The source confirmed that “some leaders of the Coordination Framework agreed to Al-Sudani’s request to change the ministerial cabinet, but others considered that this change represents Al-Sudani’s success and does not represent the framework at all.” The source did not specify which blocs supported the change and which objected .
On September 10, the Victory Coalition, led by former Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, revealed the most important points agreed upon by the leaders of the Coordination Framework during a meeting they held on the evening of the ninth of the same month, at the home of the leader of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, which was attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani .
Coalition spokesman Aqil al-Rudaini said, “Last night’s meeting of the Coordination Framework was very important, and during it a number of topics were discussed, including reaching understandings with the Sunni political forces to elect the Speaker of Parliament, as well as the recent escalation of Turkish attacks .”
Al-Radini added that “the leaders of the Coordination Framework discussed the file of (Mohammed Juhi Network), and an agreement was reached during the meeting on the necessity of the continuation of Al-Sudani’s government and the importance of overcoming these obstacles and supporting Al-Sudani and his government until the end of its term .”
Al-Radini pointed out that “some leaders of the framework considered what happened to be a kind of failure, especially with regard to the (eavesdropping) file from within the Prime Minister’s office, and some exploited this file in order to weaken the government. Therefore, the Coordination Framework stressed during its meeting its support for the government and its ability to pass this stage to the end of the parliamentary session, especially since it is a comprehensive government for all blocs and parties .”
Also on the tenth of this month, the Al-Fatah Alliance, led by Hadi Al-Amiri, denied what was reported about a request from some leaders of the Coordination Framework for Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to submit his resignation and move towards early parliamentary elections, as a result of the recent problems and crises .
The leader of the coalition, Ali Al-Fatlawi, said: “The news that spoke of a request from the Coordination Framework or some of the framework’s leaders for Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to submit his resignation and head towards early elections is incorrect, as there is no such request .”
Al-Fatlawi explained that “Al-Sudani has commitments, which are agreements with the forces of the Coordination Framework, and he is required to resolve these files, most notably the file of withdrawing American forces, as well as the dollar crisis and even the services file, and these files are discussed in depth during the periodic meetings of the framework .”
He stressed that “the Coordination Framework still strongly supports Al-Sudani and his government, and is not in favor of moving towards early elections .”
On September 14, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani complained that the current federal government he heads was subjected to attempts to “disrupt and obstruct” its work, but he confirmed that it would continue to perform its duties despite those attempts .
This came in a speech he delivered during the ceremony held on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, at Umm Al-Qura Mosque in Baghdad .
He said in his speech, “We in this government believe in our executive work based on the principle of citizenship and the public interest in leading the affairs of the state, and we have developed a government program that touches on the real concerns of the citizens, and has taken a clear path in construction and reform in all aspects of the state .”
He added, “We were able to achieve clear success rates, the impact of which was evident in all sectors, despite attempts to disrupt and obstruct government efforts, which we will not pay attention to, and we confirm that we will move forward with strength and steadfastness.”
