The Ministry of Interior announced the dismantling of an international drug smuggling network in Nineveh Governorate, in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah .
The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, said: “The General Directorate of Drug Control in Nineveh, in cooperation and coordination with the Drug Control Department in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, succeeded in overthrowing an international drug smuggling network .”
Miri said, “The operation resulted in the arrest of 3 of the accused and the seizure of about 30 kilograms of narcotics, which led to the complete dismantling of the network .”
Merry explained that “this achievement came as a result of intensive intelligence efforts and high coordination between the relevant security agencies.”
