A member of the Nineveh Provincial Council revealed yesterday, Wednesday, that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani approved the decisions of an investigative committee from his office that confirmed the “negligence” of the former Nineveh Governor Najm al-Jabouri in referring strategic projects to unreliable companies .

The member, who preferred not to be named due to the sensitivity of the situation, said, “The Prime Minister approved the decisions of an investigative committee from his office, which was tasked with investigating the files of the former governor of Nineveh, Najm al-Jabouri, for referring strategic projects to unreliable companies .”

He explained that “the committee consisting of 3 members submitted its recommendations to the Prime Minister according to their letter No. 2405468, which included the inaccuracy of the procedures carried out by Al-Jubouri, which consisted of approving some strategic projects and granting them to non-specialized companies that do not have similar work .”

The member added that “the committee mentioned to the Prime Minister in its recommendations that despite notifying the former governor of Nineveh to appear before the committee, he did not appear and the committee was unable to impose a penalty on him due to the end of his job title and his referral to retirement .”

The committee concluded its recommendations by “informing the Integrity Commission of the results of the investigation approved by the Prime Minister.”
