The Federal Integrity Commission announced yesterday , Sunday, the arrest of 5 people due to violations at a fuel station, and causing damage to public funds in Nineveh Governorate .
The Government Communication and Media Office of the Authority explained: “A team from the Nineveh Investigation Directorate was able to arrest two employees at a filling station in Bashiqa and two other people, on the grounds of taking the remaining fuel from “coupons and diesel rations” and selling it on the black market,” indicating that “the two operations were carried out in accordance with judicial arrest warrants . “
He added that “initial investigations revealed a shortage in gasoline products and an increase in revenue amounts at the station, and the provision of a person with gas oil products outside the controls, in addition to the employment of another person at the station without approvals,” noting that “there were other violations that were confirmed by the inspection staff of the Oil Products Distribution Company, including violations related to surveillance cameras, the mechanism for unloading the product, and safety and security defense equipment .”
The statement confirmed that, “In another operation, the directorate’s staff were able to arrest a representative of an internet company; because the company was carrying out excavation work in the streets in the Al-Arabi neighborhood area on the right side of Mosul city to extend the optical cable without obtaining the original approvals,” noting that, “the accused admitted that he did not have the original approvals from the Nineveh Communications Directorate and the Mosul Municipality Directorate; to carry out the excavation work .”
The statement pointed out that “the arrests were made based on judicial arrest warrants, and two seizure reports were prepared for the two operations that were carried out in accordance with the provisions of Articles (339 and 340) of the Penal Code, and they were presented, along with the seized items, before the judge of the Nineveh Investigation Court, which is competent to consider integrity cases, who decided to detain them pending investigation.”
