The Iraqi National Security Service announced on Monday the arrest of dozens of members of the “Qurban” movement in four governorates .
The agency stated in a statement that “according to confirmed intelligence information, our agency’s detachments were able to identify new elements belonging to the (Qurban) movement in four governorates .”
He added, “Based on that, and after obtaining judicial approvals, our apparatus in the governorates of Wasit, Muthanna, Basra, and Dhi Qar was able to arrest 35 people from the (Qurbanis), to be referred to the competent authorities and take the necessary measures against them .”
The National Security Agency announced early last July that it had infiltrated this movement, also called “Al-Ali Al-Lahiya,” whose members promote deviant ideas that involve drawing lots, and whoever is chosen commits suicide by hanging.
