The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced on Monday that the Karbala refinery will be restarted tomorrow, Tuesday, after completing maintenance work .
A statement by the ministry said, “This came during the meeting chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Liquidation Affairs, Hamid Younis, with the Korean Companies Coalition, the entity implementing the refinery, and the relevant authorities in the ministry .”
The statement quoted the Undersecretary of the Ministry as saying: “The re-operation of the refinery comes within the government’s directives and its program for the refining sector, in addition to the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Mr. Hayan Abdul-Ghani, and his continuous follow-up,” noting that the production units will be operated successively, until they are all fully operational, reaching the available capacities for production in the refinery.
