The Administrative Court rejected a lawsuit filed by a number of administrative unit officials in Nineveh against the provincial council, rejecting the decision to dismiss them from their positions .
According to documents, the Administrative Court decided on Tuesday, October 22, to reject the lawsuit filed by the Director of the Nimrud District, Ahmed Obaid Al-Issa, against the Nineveh Provincial Council and the heads of the administrative units who were dismissed from their positions, by a ruling in absentia subject to appeal .
A number of officials of the administrative units in Nineveh had previously rejected the decision of the Nineveh Provincial Council to dismiss them from their positions on the grounds that the session procedures were in violation of the law .
The session to dismiss and elect officials of about 20 administrative units in Nineveh caused a political crisis that is still ongoing, and it also disrupted the work of the council for the past three months before it recently reconvened .
Last June, the Nineveh Council voted, with the attendance of only the Nineveh Future Bloc, and the boycott of the United Nineveh Bloc and the Kurdistan Democratic Bloc, to replace the officials of the administrative units in the province.
