Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani agreed to dismiss Haider Hanoun from the presidency of the Integrity Commission, based on his request .

The source confirmed that this came during the Cabinet session held on Tuesday evening, where the Council voted to appoint Hanoun as an advisor in the Ministry of Justice .

In mid-October, a “second” arrest warrant was issued against Judge Haider Hanoun, the acting head of the Federal Integrity Commission, after his voice was confirmed to be consistent with leaks regarding his receiving a bribe, according to what an informed source stated at the time .

Before that, the Iraqi judiciary issued an arrest warrant against Hanoun for not attending court sessions related to the audio recordings, despite receiving multiple reports .

Hanoun’s statements during a press conference in Erbil, in which he criticized Judge Diaa Jaafar, sparked widespread controversy in political circles, as they were considered a challenge to anti-corruption efforts.
