The Meteorological and Seismic Monitoring Authority announced yesterday , Sunday, that an earthquake was recorded on the Iraqi-Syrian border .

The Authority said in a statement that “an earthquake struck the Iraqi-Syrian border, about 85 km from Nineveh Governorate .”

She added, “The magnitude of the earthquake was (2.1) degrees and occurred on the Iraqi-Syrian border, about 85 km from Tal Afar District – Nineveh Governorate, and was recorded at 7:7:40 pm yesterday, Sunday .”

She pointed out that “the earthquake was not felt by the residents who were close to it.”
