The Security and Defense Committee of the Iraqi Council of Representatives intends to direct a parliamentary question to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, regarding Israel’s use of Iraqi airspace to strike a number of Iranian targets .

Committee member Hussein Al-Amiri said: “The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee held a meeting in which it rejected the use of Iraqi territory and airspace to strike Iran .”

Al-Amiri added, “The committee will direct a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, due to the violation of Iraqi sovereignty by the American forces that used Iraqi airspace to strike Iran .”

He continued: “We, in turn, reject the violation of sovereignty and we also categorically reject the use of Iraqi lands and airspace to strike neighboring countries.”
