Yesterday , Monday , the member of the House of Representatives for Nineveh Governorate, Luqman Al-Rashidi, confirmed that there is no legal justification for the provincial council’s move to question and dismiss Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil .

Al-Rashidi said, “Some forces in the Nineveh Council announced a move to question and dismiss Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil from his position without any legal justifications or grounds for doing so .”

He pointed out “the importance of supporting the Nineveh Governor and the necessity of achieving this support by the provincial council in order to continue reconstruction and stability in Nineveh,” stressing that “resolving the issue of heads of administrative units in Nineveh is subject to the decision of the Federal Court .”

Earlier, members of the “Babylon” bloc in the Nineveh Council threatened to question and dismiss the governor if he did not approve the heads of the administrative units voted on by the council in a session held exclusively by the Nineveh Future bloc, which includes the forces of the Coordination Framework, and which was boycotted by the United Nineveh bloc and the Kurdistan Democratic Party.
