The Federal Integrity Commission announced On starting the investigation into the audio leak attributed to the Director General of the General Tax Authority, Ali Waad Allawi .

The Authority said in a statement, “Our investigative staff has begun the process of investigating, investigating and probing the information contained in the audio leak attributed to the Director General of the General Tax Authority .”

The Commission pointed out that “its staff is working diligently to investigate and provide results as quickly as possible, noting that it will communicate with the relevant authorities to resolve the issue and reach the facts professionally and impartially .”

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani ordered an investigation into the director of the Tax Authority due to an audio recording .

A statement from Al-Sudani’s office stated that the Prime Minister directed “the Integrity Commission to open an urgent investigation into the audio leak attributed to the Director General of the General Tax Authority, and to submit the results quickly, in confirmation of his commitment to combating corruption, which is one of the most important priorities of the government program .”

Social media applications circulated an audio leak attributed to the head of the General Tax Authority, Ali Waad Allawi, in which he talks about the manipulation he is doing with tax funds on behalf of private companies in exchange for money.
