The Turkish Statistical Authority announced that Iraq ranked fourth among the countries that imported the most from Turkey in September, with exports decreasing by 1.9% and imports decreasing by 1.4% in September .

The authority stated in a report that “exports increased by 3.2% in the period from January to September 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $192 billion and 764 million, and imports decreased by 8.0% to $252 billion and 638 million .”

She added, “Germany is the main partner country for exports, with an amount of $1.68 billion, followed by the United Kingdom with $1.4 billion, and the United States with $1.263 billion . “

The Authority added that “Iraq came in fourth place with $1.133 billion, and Italy with $1.048 billion .”

The share of the top five countries in total exports amounted to 29.7% in August 2024 .

Iraq imports most of its goods, merchandise and food from neighboring countries, especially Türkiye and Iran, and to a lesser extent from the Gulf States and Jordan.
