Local authorities participating in the reconstruction of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri and its leaning minaret confirmed that work on the minaret has reached the final stages and is expected to be completed by the end of this November. Archaeologist Abdul Rahman Imad said that work on the minaret is nearing completion after work on the upper minaret candle began.
Meanwhile, the director of the reconstruction project of the Prophet Yunus Mosque in Mosul, Ahmed Al-Omari, announced that the project has reached the final stages and is scheduled to open soon .
said that it is a joy for the city of Mosul to witness the opening and completion of two important landmarks, namely the Great Mosque of al-Nuri and the Mosque of the Prophet Yunus, at the same time, indicating that work is currently in the final stages after the referral of the gardens and external squares by the Nineveh Governorate, while he pointed out the importance of solving the problem of constructing electric stairs to organize and facilitate the ascent of citizens, especially the elderly, due to the height of the mosque.
