Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil announced yesterday , Sunday, that Nineveh Governorate aspires to be among the oil-producing governorates in Iraq .
Al-Dakhil said, “The cadres of the Seventh Seismic Division of the Oil Exploration Company in the Ministry of Oil completed the survey work in the Qayyarah fields, which will develop work in the Qayyarah oil fields south of Mosul .”
Al-Dakhil added: “Nineveh will be present with the refineries of the other oil provinces to obtain its entitlement according to the constitution, which is to establish its own oil company .”
He pointed out that “the Geological Survey Authority confirmed that Nineveh lands contain many oil fields and reservoirs distributed throughout the province’s regions and areas,” noting that “Nineveh aspires to be among the oil-producing provinces in the next phase by increasing the quantities of oil produced and adding many of the discovered fields to oil production.”
