A young man and a young woman died yesterday , Monday, in two separate accidents, due to a thunderbolt during the rains in Nineveh .
A local source in Nineveh Governorate said, “The forensic medicine department in Mosul received the body of a young woman born in 1992 who died from a lightning strike in the Al-Mahlabiya district (west of Mosul) during the rain that fell on Nineveh Governorate since dawn yesterday and continued until after noon .”
The source added, “The second incident involved a young man born in 1991 who also died from a thunderbolt in the village of Kani Harami in the Nimrud district (southeast of Mosul) .”
Nineveh Governorate witnessed heavy rains today, accompanied by thunderstorms.
