The head of the Central Statistical Organization in the Iraqi Ministry of Planning revealed the date for announcing the results of the population census scheduled to be conducted on the twentieth and twenty-first of this month .

Diaa Awad said that the announcement of the preliminary results of the population census in Iraq will be after the curfew is lifted, through an official press conference headed by the Minister of Interior .

Awad added that after the initial announcement, the date for the official announcement of the population census will be determined .

He explained that the curfew includes all Iraqi governorates, including the Kurdistan Region, and no region or city will be exempted from this measure .

The Iraqi government will conduct the general population census on the 20th and 21st of this month, and the movement of citizens, cars and trains between cities, districts and the countryside will be restricted, except for humanitarian and necessary cases to facilitate the movement of those charged with conducting the census .

It is noteworthy that Iraq conducted its last population census in 1987, which included all governorates, followed by the 1997 census, which was conducted without the participation of the governorates of the Kurdistan Region.
