The Kurdistan Regional Government has decided to suspend official work for civil and military service employees, school and university students from the disputed areas residing in the Kurdistan Region for nine days to enable them to participate in the general population census scheduled to be conducted on the 20th and 21st of this month.
The regional government also called on organizations and private sector institutions to provide facilities for their employees who are residents of Article 140 areas during this period, in order to enable them to participate in the population census process.
This decision comes within the framework of encouraging Kurdish citizens to be present on census day in their original areas in Kirkuk and the rest of the disputed areas, including the Nineveh Plain, Sinjar and other areas.
